Watercolour landscapes
My watercolour landscapes are deeply inspired by places I've experienced, whether hiking trails, paddling routes, or the tranquil settings of our cottages in Papineau, Quebec, and southeastern Ontario. My background as a classically trained photographer makes me acutely aware of light's dance across the landscape, constantly shifting its mood throughout the day. I'm particularly in awe of the sky—its ephemeral cloud shapes and the ever-changing hues of light it casts. Within these scenes, I'm always striving to paint the perfect pine tree, with white pines being my absolute favorite. Like my floral work, these landscapes prioritize expressiveness, bold strokes, and capturing the essence of the scene over photographic realism.
