About Canadian Artist, Kristy Depper
After a 30-year career as a commercial photographer and retoucher, Kristy Depper discovered an unexpected new path in painting. Though she once believed she couldn't draw, her artistic journey was transformed after she moved back to Ottawa and took a pastel class at the Haliburton School of Art, sparking a passion for watercolour, acrylics, and soft pastels.
She creates expressive landscapes and florals, drawn to nature's beauty but focusing on bold brushstrokes, textures, and vibrant colours rather than realism. Her art aims to evoke joy and a deeper connection to the natural world.
